- Trump posts an Instagram video using filters about Biden’s speech last year
- He also went after Biden for his appearance in a number of Truth posts
- Truth Social had a series of outages while Biden was delivering his State of the Union address
Former President Donald Trump had a juvenile reaction to his arch-enemy President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address on social media.
In the bizarre post to the ex-president’s Instagram account after Biden’s high-stakes speech at the US Capitol, Trump used a video of the president’s speech from last year.
The clips include four different filters over the faces of the President and Vice President Kamala Harris to distort them.
The videos appeared to be chosen at random and there was no caption on the post.
Trump responded to Biden’s State of the Union address with a series of posts on Truth Social, pushing back on some of Biden’s comments but also mocking his performance.
One of Trump’s Instagram posts on the night of Biden’s State of the Union was a bizarre series of clips from Biden’s previous speech with a series of filters about him and Vice President Harris
It was one of several messages Trump released throughout the evening, in which Biden criticized Trump during a primetime speech without ever mentioning Trump by name, referring only to the presumptive Republican presidential nominee as “my predecessor.”
Trump also posted furiously on his Truth Social account throughout the night after promising live commentary on the State of the Union address.
Some of the more than fifty “truths” he posted included images. There were a few short lines to Iran, Putin, Ukraine and the border. But some of his responses focused entirely on Biden’s appearance and not on policy.
In one he wrote: ‘His hair is much better in the front than the back!’
In another, he wrote that Biden “looks so angry when he talks.”
Another was: ‘He’s so angry and crazy!’

At the same time, it appeared that the social media website used by Trump during the president’s speech was having problems.
Downdetector, the online platform that provides users with information about the status of various websites, showed that Truth Social was experiencing disruptions.
There was a huge increase in the number of reported outages starting around 9 p.m., just as the president was due to deliver his speech. The outages lasted until about 11 p.m., long after the president had finished his speech.
Some users who tried to visit Trump’s page found a loading wheel and couldn’t see what he posted.
The Biden campaign mocked Trump’s rapid response operation by sending an email with one word “sad” and an image of what appeared to be Truth Social not working.
Despite the bizarre nature of Trump’s Instagram video, his followers on the platform seemed to enjoy it, earning it more than 284,000 likes by the end of the night, with users commenting on how “hilarious” it was.
Others didn’t find it as ‘funny’ as others. While one user wrote: ‘Yes, this is mature.’
