Trump trashes ‘nasty’ Michelle Obama and ‘lousy’ Barack for using convention speeches to insult him: ‘I’m trying to be nice to these people’

Donald Trump said Wednesday he is no longer nice to the Obamas after they ridiculed his record, the size of the crowd and even his masculinity in their speeches at the Democratic National Convention.

He called former first lady Michelle “mean” and said they were the ones who called for more policy and less venom before launching their own personal attacks.

The day before, he had said that he had respect for the couple.

“I’m trying to be nice to these people,” he told DailyMail.com after coming off stage at a rally in Asheboro, North Carolina, his first outdoor performance since he was shot.

“They were lousy presidents, and you know this one is coming. It’s the worst.”

He turned around and attacked Kamala Harris, his new opponent since Joe Biden dropped out of the race last month.

“She makes Obama look like… I mean, forget it… She’s a radical Marxist who has ruined everything in her path.”

Trump used his rally and interview to emphasize that Harris poses a danger to the nation as he attempts to define the Democratic nominee in the eyes of voters.

But the Obamas’ arrival a day earlier revived an old rivalry.

Trump and Obama have long had a fractious relationship, with the 44th president still furious over the way the 45th president questioned his nationality with the “birther” claim that Obama was not born in the US.

Michelle Obama has become a particular target for some Trump supporters, who share memes suggesting she is transgender.

“I don’t know who would do that. I certainly wouldn’t say that,” Trump said.

“No, no. But she’s very mean to me. I mean, look, they say, Oh, don’t be personal. Talk about policy. I want to talk about policy…. But people say, don’t get personal, and then they get personal.”

The Obamas were the big crowd pullers at the party convention on Tuesday.

He accused Michelle Obama and her husband of saying they wanted less venom in politics but then attacking him.

And they used their best moment to attack Trump.

“His narrow, narrow view of the world made him feel threatened by the existence of two hardworking, educated, successful people who happened to be black,” Michelle Obama said.

“I want to know – I want to know – who’s going to tell him, who’s going to tell him, that the job he’s looking for now might be one of those ‘black jobs’?”

Her husband described Trump as a 78-year-old billionaire with a long list of grievances, which only grew longer since he was “afraid of losing to Kamala.”

“There are the childish nicknames, the crazy conspiracy theories, the weird obsession with crowd size,” he said, gesturing with his hand as if mocking Trump’s masculinity.

Earlier on Tuesday, Trump surprised critics when asked about their appearance.

“I think he’s a nice gentleman, but he was very weak in the trade…” he told CNN.

“I happen to like him. I respect him and I respect his wife.”

All that was forgotten when he took the stage at the North Carolina Aviation Museum, where he appeared behind bulletproof glass.

It was billed as a national security event. But as always, Trump used the excited crowd, some of whom slept in their cars to get good seats, to attack his enemies and make his audience laugh.

Starting with the Obamas.

“You know, they always say, ‘Sir, stick to policy, don’t get personal,’” Trump said.

‘And yet they get personal all night long, these people. Do I still have to adhere to the policy?’
