Donald Trump is suing CBS News for as much as $10 billion, claiming the channel manipulated his interview with Kamala Harris to favor Democrats just before the election.
Lawyers for the president claimed numerous violations by the broadcaster, including lying in a deliberate and malicious manner, according to a lawsuit filed Thursday.
“CBS’s misconduct ’caused confusion or misunderstanding’ among millions of Americans,” the lawyers allege.
They wrote that the complaint arises from CBS’ partisan and unlawful election acts and voter interference through malicious, deceptive and substantial news distortion intended to confuse, deceive and deceive the public.”
Trump and his team also claim that CBS News tried to provide coverage for Democrats by making Kamala Harris’ performance look better than it was.

Their editorial was an “attempt to tip the balance in favor of the Democratic Party as the heated 2024 presidential election — which is presided over by President Trump — nears its conclusion,” Trump’s lawyers wrote in the legal filing, which was first published reported by Fox News.
“President Trump is taking this action to repair the enormous harm caused to him, his campaign, and tens of millions of citizens in Texas and across America by CBS’ deceptive broadcast conduct,” the lawsuit continues.
The lawyers also used the lawsuit to take personal photos of the vice president.
“The edited broadcast caused confusion because that was CBS’ intent: to do whatever it took to portray Kamala as intelligent, knowledgeable and confident, when in fact she is none of the above,” they insulted.

Trump and his camp have criticized the interview and its editing for weeks and have previously threatened legal action.
Trump’s lawyers previously released a letter demanding CBS News release an unedited transcript of Harris’ interview with host Bill Whitaker.
CBS declined to release the transcript.
The newspaper claimed that it “did not conceal any part of the Vice President’s response to the question in question.”
Trump’s lawyers continued in their letter how news outlets “are responsible for accurately reporting the truth of events, and not for distorting an interview to try to falsely make their preferred candidate appear coherent and decisive, which Kamala certainly is not.’
Of particular interest to the former president’s legal team is Harris’ back-and-forth with Whitaker over Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his responsiveness to the requests of President Joe Biden and Vice President Harris.
“Well, Bill, the work that we’ve done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much motivated or the result of many things, including our advocacy for what needs to be done in the region. the vice president said in a segment on CBS News’ “Face the Nation.”
During the actual “60 Minutes” interview, however, Harris’ response was more concise and polished.
CBS News did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
