Trump mocks Biden for reading ‘pause’ on teleprompter, asks Wisconsin crowd if Joe’s best nickname is ‘sleepy’ or ‘crooked’

Former President Donald Trump mocked President Biden for reading “pause” on the teleprompter and asked a Wisconsin crowd whether “sleepy” or “crooked” was Joe’s better nickname.

The presumptive Republican nominee referred to Biden’s speech to union members a week ago, where he read the instructions aloud.

The 77-year-old told the meeting at the Waukesha County Expo Center, on a day off from his hush money trial, that he did not need any technical assistance during his speeches.

“Now remember, if I read my teleprompter and I’m doing well, let’s see, because of the weakness in the economy I’d like to… pause… pause… pause… what was that? That’s incredible.

‘Pause. You know, I looked at it, I said ‘that was weird,'” Trump said during his rancorous rally in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

“They actually don’t have a pause on my teleprompter, you know, they have a blank space, like you see if there’s a response,” said Trump, who often goes completely off.

‘If there is no response, you just keep going, you don’t have a break. Some speechwriter saying, ‘Be careful, they won’t know,'” Trump said.

At another point, Trump mocked Biden for not speaking out as protests erupted on campuses across the country.

“Do you think if he said – okay, let’s not kid ourselves,” Trump said on stage.

“Ladies and gentlemen, President Biden comes to give you his words of inspiration,” Trump said in a low voice as the crowd laughed.

“Does anyone think it will be so inspiring that everyone will say, ‘oh, we have to go home, we love our country,'” Trump continued in his usual voice.

“No, they’ll say, ‘Do you believe the man who is the president of that country?’” Trump continued.

“This guy, he’s… he’s…” Trump stopped rolling his eyes. “Yes, he needs something,” he added, pointing to someone in the crowd who seemed to have agreed.

He then conducted an impromptu poll of the MAGA faithful by asking them to encourage their favorite nickname, “Sleepy” or “Crooked.”

‘Crooked’ seemed to win. “That Crooked Joe is a bad guy,” he said. “I thought it would be a lot closer, wow.”

Trump further claimed that “nothing has been heard from Biden yet,” saying, “If you have a problem, you need to go out and talk about it and talk to the people.”

Trump shakes hands with a man dressed as Uncle Sam during his rally in Wisconsin

Donald Trump spoke at a campaign rally in Waukesha County, WI, on Wednesday, where he praised police for clearing Columbia and decried university protests

The ex-president claimed there is a problem. “There is a great fever in our country, but he does not speak.”

The former president suggested it would make no difference or might even make things worse.

Pro-Palestinian encampments have sprung up on college campuses across the country.

While the White House condemned protesters who stormed Columbia University’s Hamilton Hall and unfurled a banner reading “intifada” before it was cleared by police on Tuesday evening, President Biden remained silent on the subject.

At his rally in Wisconsin, Trump urged college presidents to “immediately remove the encampments, defeat the radicals, and take back our campuses for all normal students who want a safe place to learn.”
