Donald Trump has left his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, on his way to Florida to prepare for his unprecedented indictment in the classified documents case.
The 2024 Republican frontrunner got into his motorcade to begin the journey to the Sunshine State ahead of his confrontation with a judge at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
The former president faces 37 federal charges according to an indictment unsealed Friday detailing how he left sensitive files scattered around Mar-a-Lago and allegedly instructed his lawyers to lie to investigators.
Trump will meet with his lawyers before staying overnight at his Trump National Doral hotel in Miami ahead of his court appearance in the morning.
“Get ready to go to Doral in Miami. We must all be STRONG and DEFEAT the communists, marxists and radical left insane who are systematically destroying our country. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump wrote on Truth Social before leaving.
As his motorcade headed for Newark Airport, he posted, “I HOPE THE WHOLE COUNTRY IS WATCHING WHAT THE RADICAL LEFT CRAZY ARE DOING TO AMERICA, AND EVERYTHING WE STAND FOR. WE ARE A NATION IN SERIOUS WASTE, AND IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE. ps CHINA JUST, EFFECTIVELY, CONQUERED CUBA. WOULD NEVER HAPPEN UNDER TRUMP’S ADMINISTRATION!”

Law enforcement in Miami has begun ramping up security around the federal courthouse after Trump called for protests and in preparation for any rallies by his supporters.
Friday’s 49-page indictment included photos of boxes of files on the ballroom podium and next to the shower at his private Palm Beach pub.
He says the charges against him are another “witch hunt.”
But the indictment alleges he deliberately lied to the Justice Department, got his lawyers to support his plan, and even boasted about having documents he knew he shouldn’t have.
Of the 37 charges against Trump, 31 involve classified and highly classified secret documents he kept after leaving the White House in early 2021.

“They took one load, and they made it 36 different times. And we have a thug in charge. This is a political hit, Republicans are treated very differently in the Justice Department than Democrats,” he said during a speech at the Republican state convention in Georgia this weekend.
Even if Trump theoretically became a convicted felon or went to jail, he wouldn’t be legally barred from running for president.
And he affirmed that a conviction would not slow him down during his 2024 campaign.
As of June 9, Trump is still the poll favorite among Republican candidates—with a 32-point lead over runner-up Ron DeSantis.
