Trevor Bauer thanks former Dodgers teammate Mookie Betts for urging MLB teams to sign the exiled pitcher after suspension over sexual assault claims: ‘Hope to see you on the field’

Trevor Bauer has thanked Mookie Betts for pushing for MLB teams to sign the banned pitcher, who was suspended for 194 games for alleged sexual abuse.

While Bauer and accuser Lindsey Hill admitted to having consensual sex in 2021, Hill claims the pitcher went overboard by beating her, choking her unconscious and sodomizing her without her consent.

Bauer was never charged in the case, and earlier this month the couple settled their respective defamation lawsuits against each other.

And after Bauer released a video detailing his version of events on his former teammate.

“It’s something to think about,” Betts told the newspaper LA times from an MLB team signing him this winter.

But former teammate Mookie Betts vouches for the exiled pitcher’s character

“My experience with Bauer doesn’t even come close to everyone else’s experience,” he continued. ‘I love him. I think he’s a great guy. The personal stuff? I have no control. I have nothing to say. Obviously nothing ever came of it.

“He’s a great pitcher. He’s a great guy, someone who wants to climb the hill every fifth day. But ultimately I don’t make the decision. That’s a decision that’s not as easy as baseball.”

“I enjoyed standing next to you in line, @mookiebetts. “I’m sorry we couldn’t finish what we started, but whether as a teammate or as a rival, I hope to see you back on the field soon.”

Bauer admitted to assaulting Hill in a 27-minute phone call recorded on May 22, 2021, as part of the Pasadena Police Department’s investigation into her sexual assault allegations against the former Cy Young winner.

“I’m in a lot of pain, and I don’t remember specifically asking you to hit me,” Hill told Bauer in the recorded phone call, which was released by Legal matters and lawsuits. “Did you want to hit me that hard?”

“No, and that’s why it’s confusing,” Bauer is heard replying. “I didn’t feel like I hit you that hard, you know? And certainly… I’ve tried to tell you several times, ‘Do you want to stop? Are you okay?” And you told us to keep going. So I just tried to follow your lead.”

The pitcher, who maintains his innocence, was released by the Los Angeles Dodgers at the end of his suspension and recently completed his first season as a pitcher in Japan.

In response to the release of the call, Bauer’s lawyers Jon Fetterolf and Shawn Holley issued a statement to Mail Sport.

Bauer posted a video on social media talking about the incident for the first time since 2021

“Trevor Bauer and Lindsey Hill had consensual rough sex and the pretext confirms that his version of events – the truth – never wavered, despite her attempts to get him to admit what she told police,” the statement began.

“During the conversation, Mr. Bauer politely disagreed with her assessment several times, while still trying to be considerate and courteous to a person he thought was a friend, rather than someone who was deliberately trapping him.” tried to lure him by recording this conversation, without his knowledge. , with the police.’

Bauer posted a video on social media accusing Hill of devising a scheme to extort money from him by falsely accusing him of sexual assault.

No money was exchanged in either lawsuit, but Hill’s attorney Bryan J. Freedman says his client received a $300,000 insurance settlement.

An alleged text message sent by Hill to a friend that Bauer revealed reads: “Next victim. Star pitcher for the Dodgers.”

Bauer said she made the statement that he was her “next victim” in a text message sent “before she even met me” and that she was advised to “take his money.”

Bauer says this video was taken the day after the alleged attack – with no visible injuries. Bauer also says he was recorded in his sleep by Hill “obviously without my consent.”

After discovering Bauer’s net worth ($51 million at the time), Hill said she would try to get some of his money by “being an absolute w***e to try to get in on his 51 million” and that she ‘would need Daddy to strangle me’.

Although Hill acknowledged that “victim” was not the right choice of word, she claimed that she used it in a way where she was joking, especially because of her history of dating baseball players. (She has also been linked to San Diego Padres slugger Fernando Tatis Jr.)

“This was exactly what Trevor wanted to do: randomly pick three or four lines and turn them into a story where I just look terrible,” she said on “Prime Time with Alex Stein.”

“I explained that in my statement and random things. I like to joke, I am very sarcastic, sometimes inappropriate. Anyone who knows me knows that.’

Three other women have accused Bauer of sexual assault.
