Travis Kelce revealed that he plans to pursue a career in entertainment once he hangs up his cleats and helmet.

The three-time Super Bowl champion is no stranger to the lights and cameras on and off the football field. With an already decorated career as an athlete, the 34-year-old admitted that he had considered the entertainment world after the NFL.

In an interview with The Hollywood ReporterKelce was asked about his appearance on Saturday Night Live in 2023 and whether scripted comedy is on his radar.

“That’s still true, and I’m trying to get more comfortable here in LA in the entertainment world before we get back into football, knowing that that’s my main focus in my life, and it always will be until I’m done playing,” Kelce shared.

“But I’m definitely still involved in the scripted world, the entertainment world and we’ll see where that path takes me. I’m super excited, but at the same time I know I’m a bit of an amateur in that world, so I definitely have to get comfortable and, I don’t know, throw my own creativity into it.”

Given his superstar status in the NFL, it’s no surprise that other opportunities fell at tight end. Moreover, his relationship with pop star Taylor Swift brought his popularity to New Heights in 2023.

Kelce’s regular agents, Andre and Aaron Eanes, have also helped put Kelce on the map both on and off the field. The twins revealed in January that Kelce dreamed of becoming as famous as Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

In addition to appearing in the coveted spot as co-host of SNL, Kelce also starred in several TV commercials, teamed up with the Chiefs to launch a clothing line and, with his brother Jason, started what is now one of the largest sports podcasts.

Kelce has also dabbled in event promotion, announcing the second Kelce Jam music festival on March 2. The seven-hour festival will take place on May 18 in Kansas City and will be fronted by Lil Wayne, Diplo and 2chainz.

To the disappointment of many fans, Swift will not appear at the festival. While Kelce hosts the Jam in Kansas City, the fourteen-time Grammy winner will make her record-breaking Eras tour to Sweden.

In the same interview, Kelce shared what he learned from watching Swift during the early legs of the tour.

“Don’t try to be Taylor, that’s what I learned,” Kelce revealed. “Yeah, she’s in a whole different stratosphere. It’s not without reason that she is the best at what she does. It’s because she’s so articulate and just very committed to everything she does.

‘And that’s the beauty of it. I’d be a fool to ever try to copy anything she does other than enjoy the people who show up. I think that’s one thing I can probably take away is that she really has a connection with the people she’s performing for, and I’ll take that away.”
