Rebel Wilson reveals her secret career ambitions had acting not taken off… after release of bombshell memoir which accused Sacha Baron Cohen of sexual harassment

Rebel Wilson has revealed she once wanted to be a rapper.

The Australian-born star, 44, whose memoir makes shocking claims about her experience with British star Sacha Baron Cohen, 52, said she and her sister wanted to form a rap group when they were young during a chat on The Kelly Clarkson show.

“Our name was Sisterz with a Z, because that was hardcore… we were actually doing Kris Kross covers.

“So I learned all the lyrics from the cassette tape books and I just did it with my own beats,” she added.

The Pitch Perfect star was so convinced she would be picked up by a record label that she pitched herself to people in the music world.

‘I did a photo shoot… I really thought I was going to get a contract, right in my backyard. We had no idea and I wrote to record labels and sent in my cassette tape.”

The actress said she had recorded her own demo song When Skeletons Rule The Earth.

After gaining widespread recognition for her role as ‘Fat Amy’ in the film series Pitch Perfect, the star was finally offered a music deal but declined to pursue an acting career.

‘I didn’t get a contract, but many years later when Pitch Perfect became a huge hit, I did get an offer to play a white Missy Elliott album and I said no. Acting is for me,” she said.

Rebel also revealed during her appearance on the chat show that she plans to go off the grid following the release of her impressive memoir, Rebel Rising on Tuesday.

She said: ‘I’m probably going private for the next eight to 10 years after this because I share so much in the book.’

Referring to daughter Royce and fiancée Ramona Agruma, she added, “After this, I’m going to take Ramona and the baby to a cabin or something.”
