Touching moment Jeremy Clarkson becomes tearful as he and his partner are forced to send their beloved ‘pet’ cow Pepper to the abattoir in new season of Amazon hit Clarkson’s Farm

This is the moving moment Jeremy Clarkson breaks down in tears as he is forced to send his beloved ‘pet’ cow Pepper to the slaughterhouse.

Jeremy puts his arm around his girlfriend Lisa Hogan’s shoulders as the couple, visibly emotional, hold back tears as they watch a truck carrying thirteen of their cows drive away down a country road.

He rests his head against Lisa’s and then turns to her with a haunted look on his face. Fighting back tears, the couple walk hand in hand back to their home at Diddly Squat Farm for a cup of tea.

The heartbreaking scenes from the third series of Clarkson’s Farm, now available on Amazon Prime, show a softer side of the 64-year-old former Top Gear and Grand Tour presenter.

He reveals in the first episode of the new series that he can no longer afford to keep all his cows after West Oxfordshire District Council told him he must close his newly opened restaurant.

Jeremy says the local authority has ‘gone completely mad’ as an enforcement notice includes a long list of items he is not allowed to eat, including plant pots, gravel, stone and wood chips and parking spaces.

As he watches the cows being loaded onto the truck, Jeremy turns to his land agent and advisor for a heart-to-heart.

‘I’m really sad today because for the past year I’ve opened the windows, opened the curtains in the morning and there are the cows. And I love that,” says Jeremy.

‘Making cow noises. It brightens my heart every morning to see them.”

His concerns then turn to the calves, as he lovingly asks if they can sleep tonight.

But Kaleb Cooper, 25, tells Jeremy it’s he who won’t sleep because they’ll be “calling all night.”

Charlie is clearly concerned about Pepper’s future and warns Jeremy when he asks what will happen to her.

“I wouldn’t ask too many questions about Pepper,” Charlie says. “Don’t ask questions you don’t want to know the answers to.”

There’s an awkward moment of silence as Jeremy stares and blinks before turning and letting out a big audible sigh and muttering, “Oh Christ.”

Jeremy immediately brought Pepper into the spotlight during Clarkson’s Farm 2, when he was asked to care for her by five-year-old Rosie, the daughter of her previous owner.

He said, ‘This is my pet. Five-year-old Rosie, from the farm where we bought her, said this cow was her favorite.

“She asked, ‘Will you babysit Pepper for me?’ So I said I would do it.”

Later in the series it is implied that she is sent for meat when a vet discovered that Pepper was not pregnant, but Jeremy snapped back, “I don’t eat Pepper, and that’s the end of it.”

Throughout the series, viewers will also see Jeremy and his girlfriend Lisa Hogan break down in tears as a large number of their beloved pigs are tragically killed.

It’s not all doom and gloom for the farm owner, however, as he visibly brightens up when a new group of farm animals arrive and he realizes how much money they will bring to the farm.

Jeremy said: “The next day, ironically, we get a visit from the butcher.

“Holy mole! The only words I can think of are ‘Farmer Logic’, because all farmers love animals – and then kill them and sell them.

The butcher replied wryly, “That way you can love them twice.”

It also appears that the council is still following Jeremy’s case regarding his various business ventures, while they had their sights set on closing his farm shop and car park.

The farm tries to save the on-site shop, which has become a hit with tourists, while Cheerful Charlie fights against the council’s endless red tape.

Jeremy and Charlie learn about the latest enforcement order and try to come up with a plan to prevent the store and the burger van from suffering the same fate as the restaurant.

The second series of the Amazon Prime farming show revolved around Jeremy and the gang’s ambitions to open a restaurant on the farm’s grounds.

Despite opposition from the council, they were eventually able to open the farm restaurant – after jumping through a few hoops to make it happen.

At the farm shop, Charlie has to ensure that Lisa follows the council’s instructions exactly, much to her annoyance.

Speaking about the new rules, Lisa said: ‘Charlie had to have a serious conversation with me and say that I could have a criminal record if I didn’t follow them. It’s the town rules that I respect, especially after Charlie explained it to them. me in his clear and concise manner.

Meanwhile, Jeremy gets feedback on the future of his farm shop as he attends a meeting with the local council to fight for the shop to stay open.

The newcomers to the farm don’t come quietly, as Jeremy decides that his vacant land will become home to both goats and pigs.

The pigs settle into their new home in the woods and the series follows the birthing season, which ends in great sadness for Jeremy and Lisa.

Explaining his reason for buying pigs, Jeremy said: “I’ve been sending pigs into the woods: the woods normally don’t have any money in them, there’s no money coming out of them, so I just did that kind of thing to see if I could get more could earn more than he could. did.’

Jeremy and Lisa are incredibly involved in the deliveries and are even forced to intervene if they don’t go smoothly.

Most births took place at night in the bitter cold, but they had to be present in case the mothers got into trouble.

Jeremy said: ‘The sows were giving birth but it was always the middle of the night and bitterly cold.

‘If you have a sow that is in trouble, you have to help, and the fact is that Lisa’s hands are smaller than mine, so she was the first to say, ‘It must be me, it would be ridiculous to take your big old boxing gloves in the sow’.

“She literally went shoulder deep. She said afterwards that at least it was warm there.’

Heartbreakingly, not all the piglets made it, and a recent trailer for the series showed the moment a baby pig was pulled out looking lifeless.

The central storyline in the series is Jeremy’s competition with Kaleb, who has recently been promoted to farm manager.
