Dier has yet to start a competitive game for the club since Ange Postecoglou took over as manager earlier this summer and was left out of the club’s squad ahead of their EFL Cup clash with Fulham on Tuesday.

The England international has just one year left on his current contract at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and Spurs would be unwilling to let him go on loan in the final 12 months of his contract.
Since joining Tottenham in 2014, Dier has made 361 appearances for the club.
Dier was also part of Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs side that reached the final of the 2019 Champions League final, appearing as a second-half substitute in Madrid as they were beaten by Liverpool.
In addition to Dier, Tottenham also want to replace Sergio Reguilon, Davinson Sanchez and Giovani Lo Celso before the transfer window closes.
