Actor Tom Sizemore has died at the age of 61 after his family cut him off life support after suffering a brain aneurysm last month.
Sizemore, best known for his roles in Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down and Pearl Harbor, died at a Los Angeles hospital after his family made the difficult decision to take him off life support.
The actor had been in the hospital since February 18 after suffering a brain aneurysm caused by a stroke.
“It is with great sadness and grief that I have to announce that actor Thomas Edward Sizemore, 61, passed away peacefully in his sleep today at St Joseph’s Hospital Burbank,” his representative Charles Lago said in a statement. “His brother Paul and his twins Jayden and Jagger were next to him.”
Sizemore collapsed last month around 2 a.m. and was rushed to the emergency room in critical condition while unconscious. He never regained consciousness.
This week his family announced that there was not much more they could do for Sizemore as he was showing no signs of improvement and remained in a coma. USA Today informed.
‘The doctors informed the family that there is no more hope and have recommended [an] end-of-life decision,” Lago said earlier this week.
