Tom Hanks’ son shares devastating message as his hometown Pacific Palisades is swallowed up by ravenous wildfire

Tom Hanks’ son shared a devastating message as his hometown of Pacific Palisades continues to be consumed by a horrific wildfire.

Chet Hanks, 34, the son of the Toy Story star and Rita Wilson, took to Instagram late Tuesday night to tell his followers to “pray” for the neighborhood.

‘The neighborhood I grew up in is burning to the ground [right now]. Praying for Palisades,” Chet wrote on his Instagram Story, alongside a prayer hand emoji.

His parents bought a sprawling $26 million, 14,513-square-foot mansion in Pacific Palisades in 2010. It is unclear whether the house was affected by the inferno.

Chet currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee when he posted about “leaving Hollywood” in August.

Firefighters have continued to battle the massive blaze in the upscale neighborhood, while nearly 30,000 residents have been forced to leave the area.

Officials have warned that water and supplies are running low, while emergency evacuation warnings have spread as far away as Malibu and Calabasas.

Tankers full of water have been dousing the inferno from the sky all afternoon, but all aircraft are now grounded due to deteriorating wind conditions and visibility.

Residents have been warned that the worst is yet to come as the raging fire burns through more than 2,900 hectares of land in Los Angeles at an extraordinary pace.

While at least 30,000 people are currently under mandatory evacuation orders, others have been warned to prepare to flee as new wildfires have diverted necessary resources to Pasadena and Altadena, near Eaton Canyon.

A fast-moving forest fire has started near Pasadena in the past hour and is already consuming 400 hectares of land.

Pacific Palisades, where houses have already been reduced to rubble, is a celebrity enclave home to the likes of Ben Affleck, Miles Teller and his model wife Keleigh Sperry, Jhene Aiko other Hollywood A-listers.

Even more celebrities call Calabasas and Pasadena home, including the Kardashians.

Reality TV star Spencer Pratt and his wife Heidi Montage have tragically lost their home to the massive wildfire.

Pratt, 41, was captured in photos watching the fast-moving fire move toward his home, which is in an area with many celebrity estates also at risk of burning.

Sources said TMZ that Spencer and Heidi’s home was completely destroyed after it caught fire on Tuesday.

Fortunately, the couple and their two sons were able to evacuate safely earlier in the day before the flames got too close.

However, they are distraught at the staggering loss.

Spencer documented firefighters’ efforts to control the blaze with a video on his Instagram Stories showing a plane dropping water on a nearby mountain.

Video taken near the couple’s home shows Spencer looking somberly at the approaching flames as he stood on a hill with a group of people, including one person who appeared to be his father.

The Hills star, who wore a black graphic T-shirt, olive shorts and black sneakers, rubbed his eyes at one point, possibly due to irritating smoke or flying debris.

The full extent of the destruction is not yet clear, but other homes near Spencer and Heidi are likely affected by the wildfire.

Oscar-nominated actor James Woods, 77, responded to

“I hope everyone gets out safely… and leaves,” said Woods, nominated for an Academy Award for the films Salvador (1986) and Ghosts of Mississippi Leaving (1996), accompanied by a clip of a fire on a hill.

Woods posted a series of photos and clips documenting the damage while praising the efforts of first responders to his 4.5 million followers.

“We were blessed that the LA fire and police departments did their jobs so well,” Woods said. ‘We’re safe and gone. ‘There are several primary schools in our area and there has been a huge community effort to evacuate the children safely. “I can’t say more about the LA fire and the LAPD.”

Schitt’s Creek star Eugene Levy, 78, named honorary mayor of Pacific Palisades, told the Los Angeles Times that he ended up in the stalemate of fleeing residents during the fire.

The actor told the newspaper, “The smoke looked quite black and intense over Temescal Canyon. I couldn’t see any flames, but the smoke was very dark.”

Actor Chris Pratt, another area resident, asked for prayers as Los Angeles continues to burn.

“Please send prayers and strength tonight to everyone in Los Angeles affected by these devastating fires,” he wrote on social media.

“Thank you to the brave firefighters and first responders who are working tirelessly to protect lives, homes and wildlife as they battle fast-moving wildfires fanned by high winds.”

“You are true heroes, and we are endlessly grateful for your sacrifice and courage.”

The National Weather Service has warned residents to expect more carnage tonight with wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour.

“This will likely be the most destructive storm since the 2011 storm that caused extensive damage to Pasadena and the nearby foothills of the San Gabriel Valley,” the NWS said.

“All communities along Highway 118 and 210 corridors are at greatest risk for similar wind damage.”

The forecast winds for tonight will only fan the flames of the bushfires, but also pose the risk of downing trees and power lines, or sparking further infernos.

LA City Council President Marqueece Harris-Dawson declared a state of emergency Tuesday afternoon amid raging wildfires.

He warned that the worst is yet to come and urged residents to stay off the roads as much as possible to give emergency services the best chance to tackle the inferno.

Los Angeles County Fire Chief Marrone also had a stern warning for residents Tuesday night: “We are not out of danger.”

“The National Weather Service has forecast that the winds will pick up and get worse,” Marrone said.

“We will have the main wind event between 10 p.m [PST] tonight and 5 o’clock tomorrow morning.’
