A man has been ‘very seriously injured’ in a suspected shark attack on a remote beach 130km north of Bundaberg in central Queensland.
Paramedics from the Ambulance Service were called to 1770 beach, halfway between Rockhampton and Hervey Bay, at 4pm on Friday after reports of an injured swimmer.
The man in his 20s is said to have suffered serious bites to his leg during the attack and was taken by road to Bundaberg Hospital.

“Paramedics are currently treating one patient at the scene of a reported shark bite on a beach off Sir Raphael Cilento Drive at 4.35pm,” the Queensland Ambulance Service posted on social media this evening.
Another 21-year-old man was also attacked by a 1.8-metre shark near Clack Island on Far North Queensland’s Cape York Peninsula eight days ago.
He was taken to Cairns Hospital in a stable condition with injuries to his right arm and shoulder.
