Tom Brady doesn’t have the personality to be a good NFL analyst, according to a veteran broadcaster.

Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion, will begin his massive 10-year contract with Fox next season, which will earn him $375 million.

The 46-year-old has yet to prove his credentials on the mic, but he hopes his 22 years of experience as an NFL quarterback will make Fox’s games a must-see for audiences.

The pressure will be on Brady to step up almost immediately alongside play-by-play commentator Kevin Burkhardt as he replaces Greg Olsen, who has received high praise for his work at Fox.

But legendary talk show host Mike Francesa believes Brady will struggle as an analyst because the role requires a “unique quality” that he does not possess.

When asked about his thoughts on Brady in the booth during an email segment for listeners on his BetRivers podcast, Francesa said, “I don’t think his heart is in that.

“I don’t think his personality is like that. I don’t think he’ll be great at it. Not really.

“I think you have to bring a unique quality that allows you as an analyst to see the game, see the game quickly and bring personality to it.

‘It is a difficult job for the analyst in football, because you spend a lot of time on repetition.

‘You will spend a lot of time analyzing what happens repeatedly. And you also have to be very clever and smooth in the way you do it. I don’t see him there.’

While a spot in the Fox booth awaits, Brady is teasing a possible return to the NFL at age 46.

Brady said earlier this month during an episode of “DeepCut” that he was “not against” listening to an NFL team if they wanted him to sign with them.

Brady has already retired from the NFL twice, in February 2022 and February 2023.

His first retirement lasted 40 days, while his current stay away from football lasted over 14 months. The difference with his two retirements was filing his retirement papers with the NFL and NFLPA nine days after his second retirement.
