ABC fired TJ Holmes and Amy Robach after bosses finally made a decision about their future, three months after DailyMail.com revealed their illicit relationship off-screen.
The TV hosts were unable to reach an agreement with the network over their roles on Good Morning America and its GMA afternoon show, but bosses say they had “several productive conversations” with the pair.
The hosts were accused of having an affair by their respective partners, and Holmes officially filed for divorce in January.
The announcement of the couple’s dismissal from the network came in an email sent to all network staff on Friday night.
It began: ‘I want to share with you that we have reached a decision on TJ and Amy.’

The email also indicated how decisions will be made later on who will co-host GMA3 and 20/20.
“I know this has been a distraction for many of us, but let’s not forget all the great work that continues to make ABC News the #1 news network in America, and that’s because of you. I want to thank you again for your patience and professionalism during this time.’ the email said.
Holmes officially filed for divorce from his wife in January, breaking news while enjoying time with his new friend Robach (pictured together in Miami).
Robach, 49, and Holmes, 45, had been accused by bosses of not handling their romance properly and waiting too long to reveal it to executives.
Sources say the network felt his “on-set behavior” was “awkward” to ABC staff.
