The 28-year-old actor and the 26-year-old actress were spotted as Bob Dylan and Sylvie Russo, respectively, as cameras rolled down the sidewalk.

With a guitar case and a cup of to-go coffee, Chalamet embodied the legendary singer-songwriter, who turns 82 next month.

Chalamet was dressed up for the day a flannel shirt worn under a dark brown zip-up jacket, and he completed his look with blue jeans.

His scene partner Fanning walked alongside him in a ’60s outfit, complete with a cropped red jacket, a striped turtleneck and black cigarette pants.

The Maleficent star wore black leather ballet flats and a vintage woven bag.

A Complete Unknown is based on the book Dylan Goes Electric! by Elijah Wald. Newport, Seeger, Dylan, and the Night That Split the Sixties, released 2015.

The film focuses on Dylan’s early years in New York City and his involvement in the folk scene of the early 1960s.

The legendary musician’s controversial switch to electrically amplified sound is also discussed.

The development of the project was revealed to the public in 2020, when James Mangold and Chalamet signed on to direct and star in the film.

The film will feature the talents of an ensemble cast including Nick Offerman, Edward Norton and Monica Barbaro.

While filming was originally scheduled to begin last year, production was put on hold due to the outbreak of the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike.

The feature film’s team waited until the end of the strike before filming began, and production on the project finally started last March.

Mangold spoke about the feature film during an episode of the Happy sad confused podcast and said the feature film would not cover Dylan’s entire life.

“The reason Bob has been so supportive of us making it is because I think the best true films never go from cradle to grave, they’re about a very specific moment,” said he.

The filmmaker also stated that he spent an extended period of time with Dylan, who was a fan of one of his early films.

He recalled, “I have a script personally annotated by him and cherished by me. He likes movies. The first time I sat down with Bob, one of the first things he said to me was, “I love Cop Land.”
