Tim Scott’s fiancé Mindy Noce has opened up about her “heaven-sent” love story with the Republican senator and how she deals with critics who say they only got engaged because he was running for president.
VP contender Scott, 58, proposed to interior designer and mother of three Noce, 47, in January just before the New Hampshire primary. They will marry on August 3 in Charleston, South Carolina.
Noce, a Charleston-area designer, has three adult children with her ex-husband. Scott has never been married.
The pair spoke to Fox and Friends on Thursday morning as part of a series of interviews with Trump’s VP contenders and their significant others.
Noce revealed how mutual friends tried to arrange a date for them before going on a Bible study together.

She thought their bond was “heaven sent.”
Fox News host Ainsley Earhardt then asked Noce how she knew Scott was “the one.”
“God shows you the way,” Noce replied.
She added that she ignores critics who say they got married because he was a presidential candidate and that they are “angry that he’s a black man.”
Fox & Friends host Ainsley Earhardt questioned the couple about the criticism they received, especially from The View, which suggested the senator only got engaged to be in the running for vice president.
‘It’s a ridiculous period. They’re not just comments about me, they’re paid to take people down,” Scott replied.
He added that he “goes to prayer” when negativity about their relationship surfaces.
Scott said he had “prayed for years” to find a wife. And he knew she was the one from their first conversation.
“She laughs and understands the love of country and love [of] the Lord,” he explained. She is “attractive, family, devoted to the country.” It’s a pretty good deal.’
The couple went on to describe the romantic nature of Scott’s proposal on “one of the coldest days in January.”

They were taking a walk along the beach and admiring the beautiful sunset when Scott asked Noce to take off her gloves.
“I said no,” Noce replied… “until I saw him take the ring.”
‘I went down on my knee, I felt this wave of emotions hit me like a ton of bricks. I really want to spend the rest of my life with this woman. And what a blessing,” Scott gushed.
‘I’m a good listener, I’m proud of that. I will pray and pray a lot, being a prayer warrior for him, supporting him, being a listener and loving him is my role.
“He is devoted to his lord and savior, to his family. He is dedicated to his friends and his country.”
Scott and Noce will be married on August 3 at Seacrest Church in Charleston.
The GOP senator recently said he would become a stepfather once the couple married.
