He enters a Republican field that already includes Donald Trump, Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy and former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson.
Ron DeSantis will likely be added when he makes his highly anticipated announcement next week.

To prepare for the announcement, he is planning a $6 million multi-state ad campaign, The hill reported.
Trump continues to dominate in the polls, leading his closest contender, DeSantis, by double digits in multiple states.
Scott came fourth in a South Carolina poll of Republican presidential candidates in April with just seven percent.
Trump led the field with 41 percent, while DeSantis had 20 percent and Haley had 18 percent.
