- The cat recovered completely after 21 days
A Belgian cat miraculously cheated death after falling from a seventh-floor window for the second time.
Two-year-old Kushi the cat had to have plaster casts on both of his front legs after surviving a fall from a balcony in a Brussels apartment complex in April.
The cat broke one leg, while the other suffered a sprain, but luckily he did not require surgery for his injuries.
His owner, 28-year-old Feim Mehmed, who works in marketing in Brussels, said he was doing some shopping when Kushi jumped.
“His front legs were twisted when we found him,” he said.

“It’s so high and I expected him to be seriously injured, maybe even with a fractured skull, but he seemed completely fine.
“The vet said Kushi didn’t need surgery after all because his bone healed on its own.”
Incredibly, Kushi made a full recovery within 21 days and returned to his usual self.
Feim said: ‘He kept chewing on the cast so we had it replaced after ten days, but the vet removed the cast in just three weeks and he was able to walk normally again afterwards.’
Since the incident in April, Kushi has been staying with Feim’s sister on the first floor to avoid any more life-threatening jumps.
It comes after an overweight cat fell 30 meters from a balcony in Bangkok last year but suffered only minor injuries.
Shi Fu, the cat, was walking along his unnamed owner’s balcony wall on May 27 when he slipped and fell from the sixth floor of a building in the Thai city.
Apiwat Toyothaka, owner of a red MG outside the apartment building, said staff called him to say a cat had fallen on his car. He found the rear window completely destroyed.
Shi Fu’s owner also cried at the scene, saying she forgot to close the balcony door of her apartment so the cat could run away.
The cat was rushed to the vet and found to have several bruises, two broken claws and a swollen nose from hitting the glass, but had no life-threatening injuries.
