However, one experienced restaurant worker joined the thread to reassure people that it’s hygienic, writing ‘We’ve done this in a restaurant I’ve worked in before the chef’s hand is always gloved and always a new one if it’s something like that.
“It’s most likely done by the pastry chef or pastry chef who doesn’t normally work with any fat or stuff (at least where I was). But I get to where it will freak people out a bit lol’.
