The winner of Dessert Masters 2023 is revealed – and it leaves fans furious: ‘Boooo!’

Gareth Whitton was crowned the winner of Dessert Masters 2023 in an emotional grand final episode on Tuesday evening.

He walks away with the title of Australia’s first ever Dessert Master and $100,000 in prize money.

The pastry chef received the highest score from judges Melissa Leong and Amaury Guichon for his final dessert, beating Jess Liemantara and Reynold Poernomo.

‘I never actually expected that I would be here in the final. I supported myself in the cook. I mean, all credit to the boys,” he said after his win.

“We gave it everything we had, and… ..You know, it’s surreal that I finally got through it.”

Reynold told Judge Melissa that although his time was shorter this time, it was much more meaningful.

Every time I’ve been here it’s definitely led me down a path and a career that I really love and… Enjoy being there and being a part of it and I’m so grateful and so grateful . ‘
