The View’s Sunny Hostin and Joy Behar issued a stark warning to Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas against using their children as “pawns” in their “ugly” divorce battle, claiming the youngsters could be left “scarred” by the public feud from their parents.
It’s been a turbulent few days for the estranged couple, with Jonas, 34, sensationally refuting his ex-wife’s claims that he withheld their children’s passports and refused to let them travel to see her in Britain .
His denial came after court documents confirmed that Game of Thrones alum Turner, 27, is suing the Jonas Brothers singer to try to get their two daughters – three-year-old Willa and one-year-old DJ – back to her native Britain.
Behar kicked off a no-holds-barred discussion about the high-profile split, before the discussion turned to whether the fight left Turner “mommy-shamed.”

Jonas filed for divorce from Turner on September 6, with reports claiming the split was due to her “party” lifestyle.
‘It’s ugly. If you have children and are going through a divorce, be very careful what you do,” Joy warned. “Those children will be scarred and remember this forever.”
“It feels like they’re using them as pawns here,” Sunny interjected, before outlining Turner’s custody filing.
Jonas filed for divorce from Turner on September 6, with reports claiming the split was due to her ‘partying’ lifestyle – alongside claims that he allegedly caught her on their Ring security camera ‘doing or saying something’ that led to the report.
The View’s Alyssa Farah Griffin, 34, said on the divorce papers that she felt like Turner was “mother shaming.”
“As soon as it was announced, there was, honestly, a bit of a smear campaign against Sophie Turner, someone who is an incredibly talented actress who has been working on Game of Thrones since she was 18 (claiming she was partying and doing this),” she said.
“This is a person who is a mother of young children, but also a very successful person. It kind of penetrated the mother shaming that might be slut shaming.”
She added: ‘This could become very risky and an international custody battle.’

A representative for Jonas told DailyMail.com in a statement that the singer was seeking “shared parenting” with Turner, adding: “The children were not kidnapped.”
“This is an unfortunate legal disagreement over a marriage that is unfortunately about to end,” they continued.
“When language like ‘kidnapping’ is used it is at best misleading and at worst a serious abuse of the justice system. The children were not kidnapped.
“Having been in Joe’s care for the past three months by mutual consent, the children are currently with their mother.

Turner was pictured with Jonas’ famous ex Taylor Swift, 33, as they enjoyed a girls’ night out in New York City on Tuesday, two days before she filed for divorce.
Jonas has stated that handing over his children’s passports would “violate the Florida court order” that prohibits their children from being relocated.
‘Sophie is only making this claim to move the divorce proceedings to Britain and permanently remove the children from the US.’
Jonas’ rep also said the singer had “rejected all statements allegedly made on his behalf that discredited Sophie.”
“They were made without his approval and are not in accordance with his views. His wish is that Sophie reconsiders her harsh legal position and moves forward in a more constructive and private manner,” the statement said. “His only concern is the well-being of his children.”
Turner had claimed she didn’t know Jonas was filing for divorce, claiming she found out “through the media.” Jonas’s representative has denied this.
‘After several conversations with Sophie, Joe initiated divorce proceedings in Florida, as Florida is the appropriate jurisdiction for the case. “Sophie knew Joe was going to file for divorce,” they said.
“The Florida court has already issued an order prohibiting both parents from moving the children. Sophie received this order on September 6, 2023, just over two weeks ago.’
His rep added that the former couple had a “cordial meeting in New York” last Sunday, where Turner had arrived to be with their children.
“They have been with her since that meeting. Joe’s impression of the meeting was that they had come to an agreement that they would work together toward an amicable co-parenting arrangement,” the statement said.
