Footage has resurfaced of Olivia Newton-John sharing a sweet tribute to The Seekers singer Judith Durham in 1997, years before both women died just days apart.

Judith passed away on Friday following a long battle with chronic lung disease, while Olivia died on Monday morning at her home in southern California after a long battle with breast cancer.

In the clip, the Grease star congratulated the singer on her achievements during an episode of This Is Your Life.

‘Congratulations, this must be quite a day for you. I’d like to congratulate you on all you’ve achieved as a human being,’ Olivia said in the clip.

‘I know over the last few years you’ve been through some terrible troubles.  Throughout all, you’ve maintained such a brave front, a lovely smile and that beautiful voice I’ve always admired.’

In 2012, Olivia also recorded a video message for Judith’s band The Seekers as they celebrated their 50th anniversary.

‘Judith I love your voice, you’re such an amazing singer,’ she said in the clip.

Judith passed away following a long battle with chronic lung disease on Friday.

She had been in palliative care at the Alfred Hospital before her death from complications with the disease.

Meanwhile, Olivia died four days later on Monday aged 73 after a long battle with breast cancer.

She shot to international stardom thanks to her role as Sandy in the 1978 movie Grease.

Olivia’s husband John Easterling announced her death on her Facebook page.

‘Dame Olivia Newton-John (73) passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends.

‘We ask that everyone please respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.

‘Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer.

 ‘Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer,’ he said.
