The surprising job Robert Irwin hates doing on I’m A Celebrity is revealed – after he missed out on a Gold Logie win

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australian co-host Robert Irwin has won over viewers with his energy and enthusiasm, but he has a surprising ‘hate’ about the role.

The 20-year-old celebrity conservationist, who took over as host from Dr. Chris Brown earlier this year, reportedly doesn’t like having to read his lines from an autocue and prefers to improvise.

“It’s not his favorite part of the job. If we can let him improvise more, he’ll look more relaxed on camera,” an insider told us. Yahoo Lifestyle.

“He hates autocue work and would like to be a little more off-the-cuff, which suits his style. When he gets a chance to speak, he just fills the room.

“That’s understandable, because a lot of his earlier work was heavily improvised. Particularly his work at Australia Zoo. He can hold court for hours and is genuinely engaged in his passion for animals.”

They added that Robert’s natural charm and enthusiasm were best used when he could speak for himself, rather than following a pre-written script.

“We all hate our day jobs and the people you see on our TV screens are no different. He really shines when he’s in his own job,” the insider continued.

Another industry source said Robert “struggled a bit” when reading from the autocue at Sunday’s Logie Awards in Sydney.
