The NEW hardest puncher in the world! Ex-World’s Strongest Man winner Eddie Hall breaks UFC star Alex Pereira’s record on power-measuring machine

  • Hall tried out the PowerKube, a device that measures impact force
  • His punch set a new record by defeating UFC lightweight champion Pereira
  • Pereira broke Francis Ngannou’s old record on the machine two weeks ago

Former World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall has broken the record for the world’s hardest punch, just two weeks after UFC star Alex Pereira set the previous benchmark.

Pereira shattered Francis Ngannou’s old record on the PowerKube, scoring 191,796 power units to deliver the world’s heaviest punch. Ngannou previously topped the list with 129,161, before UFC fighter Joe Pyfer bested him with a score of 170,218 units.

The PowerKube is a device that measures the force of a single blow, where a padded target is connected to a computer and data is provided in real time.

Hall has now reached a new milestone with a staggering 208,901 on the machine.

The 36-year-old won the World’s Strongest Man competition in 2017 and retired from his strong career the following year.

He has since been involved in boxing and was set to make his MMA debut in February.

Hall was due to fight Mitchell Hooper – who won the World’s Strongest Man last year – before the event was postponed.

The former strongman raised his arms in celebration in a video shared by TNT Sports after realizing he beat a UFC champion’s score to come out on top.

UFC light heavyweight champion Pereira’s figure on the machine was impressive as he weighs around 205 pounds compared to Hall who weighs around 360 pounds.

Dana White said after Ngannou posted his best score in 2018: “His punches equal 96 horsepower.

‘That’s the equivalent of being hit by a Ford Escort driving as fast as possible.

“And it’s more powerful than a 12-pound sledgehammer going full blast over your head. Holy c***.”

PowerKube measures speed, strength and endurance. The impact power that Ngannou and Pereira scored combines power (measured in watts) with energy (measured in joules) to form a single, concise metric that accurately represents a combat athlete’s striking power, according to the company’s website.

Speed is measured by timing the time between an attack and the on-screen trigger that triggers it, and endurance over a large number of attacks.

Pereira’s milestone came days before he defeated Jamahal Hill via knockout in the first round of their fight at UFC 300 earlier this month.
