An Aussie family has developed a handy way to transport and drink alcohol this summer – and it fits in your pocket, esky, car or caravan without the risk of breaking or spilling.

Launched in 2019 by Victorian father and son duo Wayne and Ashley, The standard squeeze is a $24.95 container made of HDPE plastic with a 30 ml chamber.

It is food grade certified to hold alcohol without leaching or damaging the contents. You simply fill the reusable bottle with your choice of alcoholic beverage and then put it away.

Then loosen the side cover of the small chamber and squeeze it bottle. This forces the spirit up and into the room, measuring a perfect 30ml standard drink; If you want a stronger drink, you can make it a double squeeze.

It also saves 50 percent weight over a glass bottle full of spirits, which is important when towing a caravan or packing light.

Wayne and Ashley regularly drink liquor when visiting friends and family, fishing or camping, and often have to bring a full glass bottle of their favorite alcohol and a shot/nip pourer.

Alternatively, they would have to buy pre-mixed drinks, which turned out to be quite expensive.

They would also struggle with the problem of having glass that often breaks, rattles or rolls around in the car or esky and free pouring of drinks which often makes them too strong or too weak in taste and alcohol content.

So while sitting around a campfire one evening, the idea for The standard squeeze was born.

The original bottle gives you the ability to easily pour one standard drink every time in a convenient and durable plastic container.

Two years later, the company has built a brand with a loyal customer base, selling thousands Standard squeeze bottles in Australia alone, wholesale to over 100 stores and create additional products.

These include larger options, including the Double shot, XL, Cocktail package, Family package and stainless steel and vacuum sealed cups.

They also have the cold which keeps your bottle of wine cold for hours without causing you to sweat more or get water droplets on the table.

The side measurements also allow you to see exactly how much alcohol is left in the bottle, allowing you to more accurately assess when you can safely drive a vehicle the next day.

In Australia, a standard drink consists of 10 grams of pure alcohol or 30 ml of spirits with an alcohol content of 40 percent. The standard squeeze helps you stay responsible and under the legal blood alcohol content (BAC) limit.

It also helps you see Exactly how much alcohol is in the bottle is shown by the measurements on the side, allowing you to more accurately assess when you can safely drive a vehicle the next day.

“Our mission is to provide innovative solutions that are responsible or convenient when serving, storing and consuming alcohol,” the family said.

‘Don’t drink and drive, just do the math and know how much you’ve had to drink, it’s simple.’
