The Matildas: Nikki Webster’s Strawberry Kisses returns to the iTunes chart for the first time in 22 years after becoming the unofficial anthem of the Aussie Women’s World Cup team
Nikki Webster’s iconic ’00s hit Strawberry Kisses has re-entered the iTunes charts for the first time in 22 years.
It comes after the 2001 song became the unofficial anthem for Matildas’ 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup squad.
Nikki shared the good news on Instagram this week, posting a screenshot of the iTunes charts that show Strawberry Kisses at a stable 11.
“Can’t believe how exciting it is to have it back on the iTunes list 22 years after its release,” she captioned the photo.
She continued, “Thank you everyone for the love and support. Means so much to me.’

Nikki serenaded the Matildas in an official ceremony honoring the team for finishing fourth in the highly publicized WWC tournament.
The blonde, who rose to fame in 2000 after performing at the Sydney Olympics, was in her element as she got up close to the athletes as she recited the lyrics to thousands of fans.
The Matildas were on stage for nearly an hour celebrating their huge sporting success, when out of nowhere Nikki appeared to perform for them.
It comes after the 2001 song became the unofficial anthem of Matildas’ 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup squad. The pop star serenaded Australian players with her famous song at Brisbane’s Riverstage

The players were thrilled with her performance and began to dance together in jubilation, with star striker Sam Kerr and goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold even sharing the microphone with Nikki at times.
The Matildas looked to the moon to finally relax after a grueling finals campaign that saw them finish fourth after losing to Sweden on Saturday.
Fans quickly took to Twitter to watch Webster serenade the team, with one fan writing, “What better way to celebrate the Tillies than a performance by Nikki Webster herself,” while another added, “This is so iconic it makes me cry’.
