Born with a silver spoon in his mouth to a wealthy Connecticut family, Henry McGowan seemingly had it all until earlier this week.
His father John McGowan – whom Henry accuses of murder in a luxury Irish hotel – enjoyed a decades-long career as a successful financier.
Henry grew up in Tony Greenwich, Connecticut, where his family attended the $74,000-a-year Deerfield Academy.
His parents later moved to a beautiful $1.9 million Colonial-style home in New Canaan, Connecticut.
Meanwhile, Henry settled into a stylish $5,100-a-month antebellum apartment in trendy Brooklyn.
But the successful and well-regarded family found themselves at the center of a horrific crime on Tuesday when Henry allegedly murdered his father at the Ballyfin Demense hotel in Laois, Ireland.
The five-star hotel, previously best known for hosting Kim Kardashian and Kanye West on their honeymoon, charges about $1,000 per night for a room.
Glossy photos on the website show that the massacre took place in lavish surroundings that both Henry and John McGowan were accustomed to.

McGowan was a graduate of the University of Virginia and most recently worked for technology software company Affirm.
He now lives in a pre-war apartment in the trendy Brooklyn Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn. His apartment last sold for $1.2 million.
The area is known for its brownstone mansions and tree-lined boardwalk that stretches along the East River.
In his spare time, he was known to attend exclusive parties in the Hamptons during the summer months, which are popular among New York’s elite.
When McGowan attended a beautiful Ballroom Marfa party last summer, he interacted with award-winning architect Ted Flato and his family.
Although he doesn’t spend his time in the Hamptons or away from his home in Brooklyn, his social media shows him regularly visiting Texas, Miami, San Francisco and Colorado.
McGowan had reportedly taken a trip through Europe before heading to Ireland. A photo obtained by DailyMail.com shows him relaxing in a very chic looking ski resort.

On Tuesday, McGowan was found unconscious in the hotel’s recreation area and was later pronounced dead.

McGowan was charged with murder and did not respond to the charges when alerted by officers.
After a brief court hearing on Thursday, he was remanded in custody at Cloverhill Prison and his case was adjourned until November 18.
McGowan’s attorney Barry Fitzgerald said he suffers from significant mental health issues.
The judge presiding over the case has allowed McGowan to receive immediate medical attention for his mental health.
In a previous marathon fundraiser, Henry said he had a “manic episode” in January 2022 and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

He added: ‘I was discharged from hospital and began the process of reconnecting with reality, my dear friends and family, and ultimately my work and hobbies.
‘It has been a difficult path, but now that I am on the other side, I am deeply grateful and in disbelief at how much my life has improved in this relatively short time.
“There is no greater lesson from this experience than the importance of community.
‘My family, friends, therapists/psychiatrists and employer were a formidable force that put a major landing pad (from New York to Paris) under me, a landing pad that could very well have saved my life.’
