The entertainment consumption story

Are Indians spending more or less on entertainment? The short answer: Entertainment spending in rural India continues to rise (slightly), while in urban India it has fallen.

That is the somewhat disappointing picture given by the Household Consumption Expenditure Survey for 2022-2023, published earlier this year by the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation. It tracks the consumption of both food and non-food products.
