The auction day on The Block went off with a bang.
The Blockheads gathered on Charming Street in Hampton East, Melbourne, on Saturday, with large ‘Sold’ signs indicating that some houses have found buyers.
A group of well-dressed bidders posed in front of one of the homes under a sign saying it had been sold.
Among those vying for a new home was comedian Dave Hughes, who had his game face on.
The Project star is known to be a fan of the show and paid $3 million for Josh and Elyse’s Elsternwick estate during a previous season.

Similarly, the show’s host, Scott Cam, lay on the floor and gave a thumbs up when he arrived.
Drama ensued when an ambulance had to be called when a medical incident occurred during the auction of Steph and Gian’s house.

It comes after it was reported that Blockheads Eliza and Liberty have declared they will not walk away with the big money on auction day.

“There’s just no way we’re going to win,” Eliza said Friday.

‘Because it’s just unrealistically high. And compared to the others. As if they (the other participants) should all be very happy.’
Eliza made the comments during a performance Jase & Lauren from KIIS 101.1.
Liberty, who joined Eliza for the radio interview, teased that she expected Steph and Gian to win.
‘Yes. But look, Steph and Gian have about 657 buyers on their house. They are such scammers.
“But yeah, I mean, they actually deserve it for making a fuss. We just don’t do that,” she said.

While teasing the pair’s battle with Kristy and Brett throughout the season, Liberty added that the friends wouldn’t be happy if “some of the other houses won.”
Eliza interrupted him, however, sounding as if she was now willing to put aside any old issues the pair had with the other Blockheads.
‘No, we wouldn’t be angry (if the others won). Can I just say that I have turned over a new leaf. I can’t give anything away, but there was a moment,” Eliza said.
The reserve prices for the auction are kept secret just before bidding begins.
But the sale price of Eliza and Liberty’s House 5 is advertised at $2,800,000 – $3,000,000, which is the market value for comparable properties.
