The Block 2022: Scott Cam tells one team they have run out of money

The Block has an explosive week ahead of them when Scott Cam tells a team they’re out of money to complete their renovation.

A trailer released on Thursday reveals that a extravagant couple will be “cut off” next week after Monday night’s 25-room special reveal.

‘You have no money. You’re gone,” says the 59-year-old presenter in the promo.

The trailer then cuts to Sarah-Jane and Sharon looking shocked and concerned.

It’s unclear which team Scott spoke to; however, several contestants have had budget issues at various points throughout the season.

Sharon and Ankur recently tried to claw their way out of the red after it was revealed that they had spent too much on plasterers, among other things.

Meanwhile, a few weeks ago, Rachel and Ryan were warned that they would run out of budget in their final weeks if they screwed up every challenge.

Scott shared a hard love affair, forcing Rachel to breaking point after discovering they spent a whopping $1,700 on tile for a small splashback in their bathroom.

After the couple tried to laugh it off, Scott scolded them for their reckless spending, causing Rachel to burst into tears.

“You went $12,000 to the first bathroom, you clawed back to six — you’re six in the red now,” he said.

Rachel tried to joke that they were doing better than she initially thought, but Scott remained unperturbed.

He said, “Don’t laugh at this, because all that money isn’t going to the landscaping.”

He continued: ‘You have no money and have not started. You didn’t even ask me about [landscaping]. You haven’t even thought about it, have you?’

He went on to tell the couple that in “five or six weeks” they would run out of money and “do nothing.”

The Block returns on Channel 9 and 9Now Monday night at 7.30pm.
