The best May 4th deals
May 4 may not be an important date on the Star Wars in-fiction calendar, but it has turned an otherwise completely random date in the spring into the best day of the year to find discounts on movies, games and other merchandise from a galaxy far, far away. We looked at several retailers to find the best deals on Star Wars Lego sets, games, 4K Blu-rays and other cool stuff to celebrate this huge contribution to pop culture.
Star Wars Toy Deals
Build-A-Bear Workshop remains noticeably Ewok-free, but you can still save up to 30% on plush versions of Wampas, Rancors, and Baby Yoda (aka Grogu). This sale is a great excuse to give all these adorable creatures a good home.
Through May 5, Funko is having a buy two get one free sale on select Star Wars products. This sale is perfect for anyone who can’t get enough of the tiny little models. Simply add three items to your cart and the cheapest item is free. There are dozens of models and other products included in this sale, but we’ve listed a few of our favorites below.
Star Wars Lego Deals
The Lego Group recently unveiled its latest addition to the Lego Star Wars collection with the Lego TIE interceptor. This $229.99 set is already available to Lego Insiders, but will be available to the general public on – you guessed it – May 4. Although the Lego Store does not advertise discounts on its Lego Star Wars products in advance, members of Lego Insiders can get four times as many reward points when they purchase participating sets through May 5. During this promotion, purchases over $40 will receive a free miniature AAT Droid tankwhile if you spend over $160 you get one free Trade Federation troop carrier.
Joining Lego Insiders is free and entitles you to some cool benefits, including priority access to new sets, earning reward points that can be redeemed for exclusive sets, and other bonuses.
If you’re looking for instant discounts on Star Wars Lego sets, the 1,351-piece version of the Millennium Falcon is currently marked down to $135.99 on Amazon And Goal (was $169.99). You can also find the Republic AT-TE on sale at Best Buy for $111.99 (was $139.99).
Star Wars Movie Deals
You could definitely rewatch every Star Wars movie on Disney Plus. But if you want a collection of Star Wars movies that will make your friends green with envy, you’ll want the 4K UHD versions, complete with rich, deep blacks, high-quality HDR and much less digital noise. Each release includes the 4K Blu-ray version of the film, along with a 1080p Blu-ray and a huge collection of bonus features.
Star Wars game deals
Naturally, Steam and other online retailers offer discounts on Star Wars games and bundles. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is currently on sale for $31 on Steam (was $69.99). However, if you prefer a more classic lightsaber experience, you can also try the Star Wars Jedi Knight Collection on sale for $26.20 (was $34.95), including all games from the Dark Forces franchise, in addition Jedi Outcast And Jedi Academy.
Some of our favorite Star Wars board games are also on sale. The excellent second edition Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Game starter set retails for about $40 at Amazon And Goal. The starter set includes three pre-painted miniatures and everything else you need to play this great tabletop game.
If you prefer unpainted minis, the core set will work for that Star Wars: Shatterpoint is currently on sale for around $106 at Amazon (it launched for $164.99). Heavy-duty flat-woven rugs are machine washable, something pet owners can especially appreciate. They also come in a variety of Star Wars-inspired designs, several of which are wonderfully muted. My personal favorite is the Armadawhich shows line drawings of various ships from the Star Wars universe, but there are plenty of great designs to tie each room together.
