Water engineers investigating a clogged pipe found that the culprit was in fact a little duck with a surprising twist.
Wessex Water staff were shocked to find the animal during a recent routine inspection in Bristol.
Environmental and water protection personnel inspecting a sewer saw the duck running along an underground pipeline with a robotic camera.
The equipment had remotely worked its way through the sewers that transport rainwater underground.
On his route, he intercepted a lone duck waddling around inside.
The intruder, presumably hunting algae to eat, was seen with a questioning look straight through the lens.

The Wessex Water team made sure their new feathered friend was able to safely leave the pipe unharmed and continue on his way.
A spokesman for Wessex Water said: “Our survey teams have come across a variety of blockages on regular inspection of our foul and stormwater sewers, but this was one of the more unusual.
“Lots of wet wipes are often discovered, causing blockages that put homes and the environment at risk of contamination.
“However, in this case it was more of a moving obstruction and luckily our team was able to help the duck safely back to the surface without compromising her escapade.”
