If proof was needed that Britain is a nation of horse lovers, it has now been found.
The 2027 Guinness World Records features two British entries for unparalleled equine firsts.
Hugo is the main attraction listed as the tallest horse in the world at 6 feet tall.
The four-year-old shire horse from Towcester, Northamptonshire is known as a ‘big softie’ and ‘like an oversized dog’ by his keepers Brett Masters, 45, and 34-year-old Lisa Masters.
Despite his size, both his parents were of average height, which makes his rapid growth all the more surprising.
To ensure his height was recorded correctly, Hugo was measured by a vet without horseshoes.
Hugo is joined by 43-year-old Miranda Worby, who has collected the most My Little Pony items in the world.
With 4,550 pieces to date, Miranda’s collection dates back to her early childhood.

When Miranda started her hobby at the age of three, she initially wanted a real horse of her own, but her parents said no.
Soon after, she saw a My Little Pony toy in a store window and fell in love.
The first pony she bought was a pink figure named Snowflake, which she still has.
In the late 1990s, Miranda realized that there were My Little Pony collectibles that were only released in some countries and began using the Internet to track down rare finds.
Undeterred by the scale of her search, she also moved home in 2018 when her collection had grown so large that she needed more space to display it.
Miranda said achieving the Guinness World Records means “the world” to her.
She added that collectors should “never feel ashamed for collecting what you love!” There are plenty of other people who love it too, so be proud and never ashamed of what you love.”
