Woman reveals chilling last thought before EIGHT pit bulls tore her apart and left her needing 180 stitches

A Texas woman has revealed how she thought she was about to die when she was attacked by her neighbor’s eight pit bulls, leaving her with horrific injuries to her arms and face.

Michelle Means, 52, of Willis, north of Houston, was outside her home when the pack of dogs appeared to attack her without warning, along with other members of her family, including her pregnant daughter and her 13-year-old son.

She had bite marks all over her body and required 180 stitches and 90 staples to close deep wounds in her head, arms and neck.

“I just remembered that I didn’t want to die, but it looked like I might,” Means countered Fox 26. “They just started attacking and biting my head, my neck, my arms, my leg….”

The dogs’ vicious attack was so fierce that they seemed to view Means as nothing more than a piece of meat.

“I looked at the brown and white dog, and he looked at me, and it was like something snapped his eyes, and he jumped up at that moment and grabbed my face,” Means said.

‘And within seconds someone else had grabbed my calf and I was on the ground.’

The savages took away part of her right cheek and left her lip hanging from her face.

‘The dog bit my lip off, so they had to reattach my lip and sew it all up. There was a piece of my cheek missing, so they had to pull the skins together a little bit,” Means explained.

“They chew on you and tear you apart piece by piece,” she said KHOU.

The brutal attack only ended when a man with a shovel saw what was happening and rushed over to try to scare the animals away.

“Everywhere they bit, they went to work, but they didn’t get any muscle, they hit the nerves, but they didn’t get the nerves,” Means said. “It could have been so much worse, and I realize how blessed I am to have come out of it the way it did.”

Means and her children were then rushed to the hospital, where she underwent two surgeries and received several anti-rabies injections.

Her son suffered bite wounds to his ankle, feet and calves, while her daughter required stitches as well as injections for rabies.

Incredibly, despite her horrific injuries, Means says she holds no grudge against her neighbor but wants people to be careful around the dangerous animals.

“I just want people to be aware that it’s not always about what the owners do and how good the owners are, sometimes even about the best dogs and broken,” Means said.

A bystander with a shovel intervened to chase the dogs away, allowing Means and her two children to receive emergency medical care, including surgery and numerous stitches.

The family is now appealing for donations via GoFundMe to help cover thousands of medical bills

‘Even if a dog looks friendly, that doesn’t mean he’s friendly. Even if you don’t provoke them, that doesn’t mean they won’t attack. “I don’t blame the owners, but I would hate for this to happen to anyone else.”

The family is now appealing for donations through a GoFundMe to help cover thousands of medical bills.

Two of the eight dogs involved in the attack were killed by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

It is not clear what happened to the other six pets.
