Police are searching for those responsible for a disturbing act of animal cruelty after a dog in a kennel was thrown off a cliff and left to die.

The Australian bulldog was heard howling on Sunday morning around 8:30am by a Wollongong walker at the bottom of a cliff near Clive Bisell Drive in Mount Ousley.

The animal was seriously injured and appeared to be “emaciated and in very poor health.”

Unfortunately the dog was taken to a local vet but had to be euthanized due to poor condition.

“Police were alerted and officers from the Wollongong Police District, Police Rescue and Bomb Disposal Unit, along with SES, assisted and conducted a rescue operation to recover the dog,” New Wales Police said. South.
