A Tesla owner was left shocked after she got stuck in her Tesla while trying to update the car’s system in a Chic-Fil-A parking lot.

Brianna Janel expected the software update to take 24 minutes, but was stuck in her vehicle in Costa Mesa, California, for nearly 40 minutes last month.

She complained that it was 103 degrees in the Tesla and worried that she would run out of air because she couldn’t roll down the windows.

Janel posted a video of her ordeal to TikTok, where it has been viewed nearly 30 million times.

Tesla has manual door releases that are designed to be used when the vehicle has no power, but she decided to wait in case she damaged her car.

β€œIt’s 103 degrees in my car, so I’m panicking a little bit. I hope I don’t run out of air,” said a concerned Janel.

“I can’t open the doors or windows or I might damage my car, so I’m just sitting here frying like a damn chicken dripping sweat.”

A message appeared on the car’s screen stating that driving and charging were suspended until the update was completed.

β€œMy Chick-fil-A order has been ready for 30 minutes. I literally sit outside,” she said.

Janel shared a follow-up video confirming that she was finally able to get out and turn on the air conditioning in her car.

She added that the car’s internal temperature reached a sweltering 115 degrees.

β€œI literally came out of my car. Look, I’m sweating,” she said. ‘The AC has never felt so good and I have never felt so good. I feel like I just took a bath.”

Janel also acknowledged that she could have left using the manual unlock feature, but she was “afraid of breaking my car.”

She has had a Tesla for six years and says she has never tried to update the car inside.

The TikTok user even tried turning on the air conditioning via the app, but claimed it didn’t work.

β€œDon’t update it while you’re in the car,” Janel warned. “Stick to updating at 2am like I used to.”
