Tennis power couple Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa announce split in statement confirming they ‘amicably parted ways’ as joint Instagram account with 87,000 followers is taken down just minutes later
Tennis power couple Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa have split, the latter confirmed in an Instagram post on Sunday.
From fervently supporting each other’s careers online to posting regular updates about their relationship on social media, Badosa and Tsitsipas quickly became tennis’s most loved couple in the eyes of fans, but now their relationship has fallen apart.
Since the early days of their romance, Badosa has struggled with injuries that have left questions about the future of tennis. Tsitsipas supported the Spaniard during her recovery, as he did with him, but the couple have now revealed that the relationship between the two of them is over.
Badosa took to Instagram to break the news to her supporters, asking for privacy for the couple amid the split.
Prior to the announcement, they had a joint Instagram page and had more than 87,000 followers.

The tennis star further revealed that the pair will continue as friends after choosing to move on separately.
Badosa said: “We have shared a journey full of love and learning, and it is as friends with immense mutual respect that we now choose to continue on our own paths.”

‘We kindly ask for privacy during this time and thank you for your understanding and respect. ‘
Badosa, a 26-year-old born in New York City but representing Spain, is ranked No. 2 in the world but has struggled with injuries recently.

Badosa was teaming up with her ‘best friend’ Aryna Sabalenka during the World Tennis League last December and Tsitsipas was looking for the job.
When they first made their relationship public last year, Tsitsipas told Eurosport: “I feel happy and satisfied.”
A kiss on the cheek in a hotel room and the styling of his hair were something of a giveaway at the time.
‘I’ve never felt such a connection with someone. “I don’t mean to sound cringe or anything because that’s the reality and that’s what I’m dealing with,” he added.
