Tempers flared between Colorado and Colorado State before their Saturday night match in Boulder, with the two teams meeting at midfield after a contentious week.

While there is no indication that any physical actions were taken, video of the incident shows the two parties exchanging words in close proximity and separated.

Colorado star Travis Hunter then ran towards the fans to rile up the crowd, saying a few words to his rivals before the start of the match.

“They messed with the wrong team,” he said in a video captured by ESPN.

“All talk, no biting.”

Earlier this week, Colorado State coach Jay Norvell took aim at Sanders’ signature look.

“I spoke to ESPN today. I don’t care if they hear it in Boulder. I told them I took off my hat and took off my glasses,” Norvell said on his radio program, the “Coach’s Show.”

‘I said that when I talk to adults, I take off my hat and my glasses. My mother taught me that.’

On Thursday, Sanders was made aware of Norvell’s comments and used them as “ammunition” for his players.

“I’m just minding my own business, watching film trying to prepare, trying to come out here and be the best coach I can be,” he said. “And I look up and I read some shit they said about us,” he told his players on video.

‘Why talk about us when we don’t talk about anyone? All we do is come out here, do our best and do our job on Saturday. But if they give us ammunition…

“It was just going to be a good game, but they messed it up a bit and made it personal,” he said, as his players finished his sentence and said the last word.

The game, which Deion Sanders’ Colorado is a heavy favorite to win, starts at 10:30ET.
