Taylor Swift ‘generously gives as much as $100,000 in bonuses for the truckers on her Eras tour’

In mid-March, she embarked on her huge tour of stadiums for her hugely successful The Eras Tour.

And it looks like Taylor Swift’s hard work definitely paid off as she reportedly paid out a whopping $100,000 (£77,992) in bonuses for the truckers.

The pop star, 33, is said to have generously given huge six-figure bonuses to the truck drivers who hauled her gear across the country on the US leg of her tour.

According to TMZthe Bad Blood hitmaker handed out bonus checks to the workers ahead of her show in Santa Clara, California on Saturday.

The publication says there are about 50 production truck drivers taking part in the US leg of the tour, meaning that if she did pay $100,000 in bonuses, she would have spent an eye-watering $5 million (£3.9 million) in total.

Sources told TMZ that this was an “end of tour” bonus as the run of shows in the US comes to an end before she finally continues the tour in Mexico.

In addition to the truck drivers, it is also reported that Taylor gave extra money to “band members, dancers, lighting and sound engineers, caterers and others.”

And while it hasn’t been revealed how much the non-truckers received, it would be a “very generous amount.”

MailOnline has reached out to Taylor representatives for comment.

Taylor’s epic tour is already said to have generated an amazing $1 billion in sales and is on its way to becoming one of the highest-grossing tours of all time.

Her 2018 Reputation stadium tour broke Taylor’s own record for the highest-grossing tour by a female artist on that continent, previously held by the 1989 World Tour, as it grossed $202.3 million in just 53 shows.

Her sixth tour Lover Fest was set to kick off in April 2020, but was then canceled amid the Covid-19 pandemic, and Taylor is now on her highly anticipated Eras tour.

She’s been busy getting on stage for the US leg of the tour, with model Gigi Hadid seen dancing in the crowd at her recent show.

While her international performances – including in the UK and Europe – will begin next year, with tickets currently on sale.

It comes as Ticketmaster crashed as Swifties scrambled to get tickets to UK shows.

Some fans were so afraid of missing out on tickets that they suffered “anxiety attacks.”

With demand far outpacing supply, hundreds of fans were left cardless and disappointed. Many took to social media to express their frustration and upset.

Some complained that they couldn’t buy tickets after being flagged as potential bots.

Resale tickets cost nearly £10,000, with fans having to pay for travel and accommodation on top of that.
