Taylor Swift breaks silence on Travis Kelce’s Christmas touchdown for the Chiefs

Moments after Travis Kelce set the Kansas City Chiefs record for most receiving touchdowns in a career, Taylor Swift broke her silence on the feat by liking two Instagram posts congratulating her friend.

Swift found one message from the The chef’s bill and one of New heightsthe podcast that Travis and Jason Kelce co-host, with respect to her friend’s enormous achievement.

Swift wasn’t at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh to watch the history for herself, choosing to spend Christmas Day elsewhere.

Kelce surpassed fellow tight end Tony Gonzalez’s record with 76, with his 77th score helping to clinch the AFC’s No. 1 seed in the postseason, while the Chiefs now have a 15-1 record.

To put a slight damper on the record-breaking catch, Kelce was assessed an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for pushing the ball through the uprights, Gonzalez’s signature celebration.

Later, play-by-play commentator Ian Eagle said of the score, “I’d say he was ready,” referring to Swift’s song “…Ready For It?” from 2017.

Kelce and Swift have been dating since last September, when she attended a Chiefs game

Swift hasn’t attended a Chiefs game this season, not in Kansas City, and her last trip to see Kelce play outside of Missouri was this year’s Super Bowl.

The 35-year-old also had his 1,000th career catch in the game, with Kelce still third all-time, far behind Gonzalez and former Cowboys star Jason Witten on that list.

Gonzalez has still surpassed Kelce in that category with 1,325 career receptions. Witten ranks among Chiefs legends with 1,228 catches.

Swift’s next chance to see Kelce play live apparently won’t be for a few weeks.

The Chiefs close the regular season this Sunday in Denver, with Kelce having limited playing time as the AFC’s top spot is already locked up.

Then the Chiefs, as the No. 1 seed, have a bye in the Wild Card round, which puts the next Kansas City game she could attend on Jan. 18 or 19, with her boyfriend’s team playing the entire postseason has home advantage.
