Target gives annual donations to the LGBTQ group pushing wake-up policies in school districts

REVEALED: Target has donated $2.1 million to the LGBTQ group pushing school districts to secretly change the gender of children — as 9BN is wiped of its value due to opposition to trans clothing offerings

  • Target is teaming up with an awakened education lobbying group despite severe backlash to the recent LGBTQ marketing campaign
  • The brand is a donor to the GLSEN group, which has policies including allowing children to transfer secretly without their parents’ consent

Retailer Target, under fire, has funded a radical education group pushing for wakeful school policies despite severe backlash over the release of its LGBTQ Pride product.

The brand says it is “proud” to partner with the K-12 education group GLSEN, which is pressuring school boards to secretly transfer children without parental consent and make sexually explicit books available in classrooms.

It also includes instructions for teachers on how to modify classes such as math and science to be “more inclusive of trans and non-binary identities,” including the use of “she/they” pronouns in lesson plans, reports Fox news.

“GLSEN is leading the movement in creating affirming… and anti-racist spaces for LGBTQIA+ students,” said Target. ‘We are proud of more than 10 years of cooperation with GLSEN and continue to support their mission.’

Target lost billions in market value after it recently rolled out its annual Pride marketing campaign

The retailer came under fire for offering “pleat-friendly” options in women’s swimwear

Target has lost billions in market value after it rolled out its annual Pride marketing campaign, which included a controversial “tuck-in-friendly” female swimwear line.

And the company’s close ties to GLSEN have since come to light amid the backlash, with Target reportedly donating more than $2.1 million to the group over the years.

Among the policies pushed by the body are recommendations for teachers to intervene when students learn about sex and gender, to ensure it fits with the group’s ideology.

“If students are creating their own surveys and they want to include data on biological sex, teachers should be sure to include both intersex and other as choices,” the group says in a lesson plan.

“And if the students want to include data for gender, different choices should be included, such as agender, genderfluid, female, male, non-binary, trans man, trans woman, and other.”

One of the group’s core policies is to support trans youth in their transition, even without parental consent.

School district policy is to keep all “medical information related to transgender and non-binary students confidential,” and this extends beyond classrooms to include “parents or guardians.”

GLSEN did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Target has been criticized for its Pride marketing campaign, which has included childhood books for children

Target reportedly gave more than $2.1 million to GLSEN to support their lobbying efforts

Target’s support for the group comes as CEO Brian Cornell defended the controversial Pride month marketing campaign.

“At Target, when we think about a cause, it’s really about helping all families, and that ‘all’ word is really important,” he said on Fortune’s Leadership Next podcast.

“Most of America shops at Target, so we want to do the right thing to support families across the country.

“I think those are just good business decisions, and it’s the right thing for society, and it’s the best thing for our brand.”
