Studio 10 adds a popular Instagram influencer to the panel in a shock casting decision amid ratings failure following the departure of presenter Sarah Harris
Channel 10 has brought in a major Instagram influencer to boost Studio 10 amid the show’s declining ratings.
On Thursday, social media star Emmylou MacCarthy confirmed she will join the panel as a weekly guest contributor.
The 41-year-old will appear at Studio 10 every Thursday, either in person or via satellite from Melbourne.
MacCarthy has previously been interviewed on The Project and has appeared on Studio 10 a few times, but this is her first regular appearance with the network.
She currently has 120,000 followers on Instagram and runs an inclusive fashion boutique called Zoe Moss.

Her appointment comes amid a tough forecast for Studio 10 after the talk show hit an all-time low in ratings.
The controversial program has left tens of thousands of viewers bleeding after the departure of presenter Sarah Harris this year, leaving industry spies wondering how long it will last on the air.
In April, the show’s ratings plummeted to the lowest level in its decade-long history, with a shocking average of just 10,000 viewers on the five-city metro, The Australian reported at the time.
However, a spokesperson for Network 10 told Daily Mail Australia that Studio 10 is not going anywhere.

“Studio 10 is a staple of our daytime program with fun, entertaining and engaging content led by a fantastic panel,” the spokesperson said.
The show’s low ratings are the latest in a series of devastating blows to the morning show, whose running time was recently cut by an hour.
In December, it was announced that Studio 10 would be cut from three and a half hours to two hours, pushing the start time to 10:00 AM instead of 8:30 AM.
According to The Australian, the numbers are so low that “few media pundits were overly surprised” when Studio 10’s runtime was cut.
Studio 10’s ratings crisis comes after host Sarah Harris jumped to The Project, leaving her former co-host Tristan MacManus to run the program alongside Angela Bishop, Narelda Jacobs and Daniel Doody.
