Strictly’s Nick Knowles accused of saying ‘women from North East are munters’ and ‘ogling charity worker’s breasts during lewd chat while filming DIY SOS’

Nick Knowles is accused of saying that North East women are ‘coiners’ in a conversation with a young charity worker.

According to The sunTThe TV presenter, 62, is said to have ogled the woman’s breasts and made a series of lewd and offensive comments during the filming of the movie. BBC‘s DIY SOS: The Big Build.

The publication writes that the support worker was embarrassed and mortified by their interaction, although it is clear that Nick does not remember saying those words.

The woman, a mother of one, claimed she was interviewed by Nick in 2018 for an episode of the show that featured a young blind girl getting a house renovation.

She said he showed up late for filming after drinking the night before and later sleeping in a van.

The woman was motivated to speak out after seeing Nick dancing with Luba Mushtuk on Strictly Come Dancing this year

Nick is said to have been hungover and smelling of alcohol and cigarettes after a night out on North Shields Fish Quay.

When the woman accidentally dropped her microphone down her blouse, Nick reportedly said, “Too bad it’s not a camera.”

She also claimed the presenter told her she was the ‘first beautiful woman’ he had seen in the North East.

She told me The sun: ‘I was shocked. He humiliated me in a very personal way in front of the entire crew. It was insulting. He was in his late fifties. He was so inappropriate and I felt belittled.

‘I had been looking forward to meeting him and he ruined the whole experience for me.’

‘I remember just laughing along and feeling uncomfortable. There were other people around and everyone was there to do a good deed for a little girl. I didn’t want to spoil that special moment.’

The woman did not challenge Nick on his comments, but said there were other people there and she didn’t want to “screw things up.”

Nick took a photo with the woman during filming and she claims he tried to talk her into getting married when he saw her engagement ring, saying her marriage hadn’t worked for him.

The woman, who has not been identified, also claimed that the off-air host is a different person from the image he displays on screen.

She was motivated to speak out after watching Nick dance with Luba Mushtuk on Strictly Come Dancing this year.

It comes as the star is set to walk down the aisle with fiancé Katie Dadzie, 34, despite their 30-year age gap.

Nick popped the question in August 2023 and the big day appears to be approaching after the bride was spotted shopping for her dress this week.

The DIY SOS star was also married to Gillian Knowles from 1996 to 2000, with whom he shares son Charlie and daughter Tuesday, while he also has son TJ with dancer Paula Beckett.
