Strictly Come Dancing stars have sent ‘all their love’ to Amanda Abington after she pulled out of Saturday’s show at the last minute.

Actress, 49, reportedly shared a touching post about mental health after it was revealed she and partner Giovanni Pernice, 33, will miss the show due to health reasons.

After introducing the couples this week, presenters Claudia Winkleman, 51, and Tess Daly, 54, spoke candidly about Amanda’s absence.

Claudia said: “Now as you may have noticed, Amanda and Giovanni are missing from the line-up, due to health reasons Amanda is unable to perform this week.

Tess continued: “According to the rules of the competition, she’s got a bye and if it goes well she’ll be back in the ballroom next weekend.”

Then Claudia gushed: ‘Amanda, we’re all sending you so much love.’

As Tess also sent her best wishes, adding: ‘So much love to you.’

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, fans were disappointed not to see the Sherlock star dancing and hoped to see her back on screen soon.

One wrote: “Hope Amanda is feeling better already, looking forward to seeing her back next week.”

With another statement: ‘Hurry up and come back Amanda!’.

While someone else said: ‘Oooh I’m missing Amanda and Gio tonight. I can’t wait for him to come back next week’.

And one fan’s cat was delighted and said: ‘Junior is sad Amanda and Giovanni are not well’

It was announced on It Takes Two on Friday that Amanda pulled out of this weekend’s live show due to medical reasons and is scheduled to return next week.

Amanda, who did not address the reason for her absence, reportedly shared the poignant message to her Instagram Stories on Saturday in a now-deleted post.

She re-shared a quote about mental health from the late actor Robin Williams that was originally posted by an account called ‘positiveminds011’, according to The mirror.

The poignant quote read: “People don’t fake depression… they fake being fine. Remember that. Be kind.’

It appears that Amanda has since deleted the post, as it is no longer on her Instagram stories.

On Friday’s episode of BBC Two’s Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two, it was announced that Amanda would not be taking part in this weekend’s live show.

Presenter and former Strictly pro Janet Manrara said: “We have some breaking news, unfortunately due to medical reasons Amanda will not be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this weekend.

“Strictly Come Dancing protocols mean that Amanda and Giovanni will return next week when all is well. Amanda, we hope you get well soon my love, I send you my best wishes.’

A Strictly spokeswoman confirmed Amanda’s absence was due to ill health, saying: “Due to medical reasons Amanda Abington will not be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this weekend.

“Strictly Come Dancing protocols mean Amanda and Giovanni will be back next week, if all goes well.”
