Strictly Come Dancing fans claimed it would be ‘the most incredible final ever’ as the final four were confirmed in Sunday night’s semi-final episode.

Fans were thrilled when Chris McCausland, JB Gill, Tasha Ghouri and Sarah Hadland became Strictly’s 2024 finalists.

Viewers also poked fun at Pete Wicks after he was voted off during the series’ eleventh results show, admitting: ‘I wonder if Pete Wicks is on a plane to Australia yet!’

It could be the perfect time for the former TOWIE star, 36, who has told friends he’s keen to ‘make it official’ with Maura Higgins, 34, to catch the next flight to meet his new love interest in time for the I to see. ‘m A Celebrity reunion.

While heading to X, one fan cheekily joked: “I wonder if Pete is on his way to Australia yet? The #ImACeleb party and Maura are probably waiting for him. #Strictly’.

Meanwhile, fans praised the star-studded final four and shared their relief that the ‘right four ended up in the final’.

Pete and Jowita Przystał left in the semi-finals of the competition, after a dance competition against Tasha and Aljaž Škorjanec.

Both couples returned to the ballroom as Tasha and Aljaž performed their waltz to (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman by Aretha Franklin.

Pete and Jowita then performed their Argentine tango to Bittersweet Symphony by The Verve.

After both couples danced for the second time, the judges delivered their verdict, with Craig Revel Horwood kicking things off by saving Tasha and Aljaž.

Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke also saved Tasha and Aljaž, giving them the majority of votes and marking the end of Pete and Jowita’s time on the show.

Chief judge Shirley Ballas also agreed, saying she would have decided to save Tasha and Aljaž.

When asked by Tess about his time in the competition, Pete said: “It was wild. I’ve been very honest about the fact that I didn’t necessarily want to do this [Strictly] in the first place, but everyone else wanted me to do it, and I’m so glad I did!

‘You don’t always have to be the best, but if you enjoy something, why not try it? I did my best from day one, I said I wanted a penny, a pound, and I did it, it was beautiful.”

As for Polish dance partner Jowita, he added: “There are many things I will take away from this, but one of the most special things is you. [to Jowita] and I mean that, because you are one of the most incredible people – not only as a dancer – but also as a person.

‘You have been a ray of sunshine to me. Over the past three months you’ve helped me get through things I didn’t think I could do, and you’ve made me believe in myself and that means more to me than anything.”

Jowita said: “I just want to thank you, thank you for the trust you have given me since day one.

‘For me every dance was special… even the Cha Cha in Blackpool!

“Do you remember on the first day you said, ‘I won’t stay in this competition for long because I can’t dance,’ but now I can tell you, yes, you can.”

Sunday’s results show also includes two musical performances; Becky Hill performed her powerful single Indestructible, while Raye also took to the stage with her stunning track Genesis, Pt. III.

The remaining four couples will take to the dance floor next week for the grand final of the competition.

The finalists each perform three dances: their favorite dance from the series, the jury’s choice and a spectacular show dance.

The Strictly Come Dancing Grand Final returns live on BBC One and iPlayer on Saturday December 14 at 6pm.
