ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith publicly asked Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill if he regretted his choice to leave the Kansas City Chiefs after quarterback Patrick Mahomes led them to a third title in five years.

Hill was traded to the Dolphins in March 2022 and signed a massive four-year, $120 million contract extension.

But he’s had to watch his former team win back-to-back Super Bowls during that same period, leaving Stephen A. to wonder if the Dolphins receiver has any regrets.

“I know you got your bag, Tyreek Hill,” he began during an episode of The Stephen A. Smith Show. “I know you have your bag, you have your money, and you deserve every cent of those dollars.

“But I’m asking you something, Tyreek Hill, with all due respect: Are you sure you’re happy with your decision?

“Now let’s clarify. I ask that question solely for football reasons. I know South Beach is a lot better than Kansas City. I get it. No argument there. Also no state income taxes in Florida. I understand that too. Warmer weather. I understand that too.

“But I still say to you, for football reasons, if you’re playing with a quarterback, are you sure you’re okay with your decision to move on from Patrick Mahomes? In fact, we now have to make a comparison.

“I would argue, ladies and gentlemen, that this warrants a comparison between Tyreek Hill and Kevin Durant. Which one is worse? Tyreek Hill leaves Patrick Mahomes or Kevin Durant leaves Steph Curry?

“Because you all saw that game-winning shot he (Curry) hit against Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns on Saturday night, right?

‘Which one is worse? Which decision is worse? Tyreek Hill leaves Patrick Mahomes to join Tua Tagovailoa or Kevin Durant leaves Steph Curry to join Kyrie Irving.

‘Which one is worse? You’re all debating it, I’m not even going to give you my answer right now. I’m going to hold on for a few days. I’ll save this topic for another day.

“But it’s a good question to ask and don’t tell me it isn’t. Because when you see what Patrick Mahomes does, it’s something special to see. And we just have to call it like we see it and just be honest about it, because there’s really no way around this.”

Earlier this year, Travis Kelce spoke about his contract in an interview with Vanity Fair and even specifically mentioned Hill’s situation as a reason for him to stay with a team that would pay him less.

“My managers and agents love to tell me how underpaid I am,” Kelce told the outlet. “Every time I talk about more money, they say, ‘Why don’t you go to the Chiefs and ask them?’

“When I saw Tyreek making 30 million a year, in the back of my mind I thought, man, that’s two to three times what I’m making now.

“I think the free market seems nice until you go somewhere and you don’t win. I like winning. I like the situation I’m in.’
