She co-starred with Hayden Christensen who played her doomed love, Anakin Skywalker, who would fall to the Dark Side and become Darth Vader.

Unlike their legendary predecessors, the prequel films were panned by critics and fans alike after failing to live up to expectations.

It was also planned for poor use of CGI and for the unlikely comic alien Jar Jar Binks.

Despite the films being panned, the backlash had no impact on Natalie's career, with the Hollywood star going on to appear in a number of hit films including Black Swan, Thor, Jackie and Vox Lux.

Last year, Hamill revealed he sees no “reason” to play Luke Skywalker again, but remains open to returning to the role during an interview with CBS Sunday morning.

The star spoke to CBS News Sunday Morning correspondent Tracy Smith and said, “I've had my time, and that's okay,” Hamill said of playing the Force hero. “But that's enough.”

“So even if you say you're not going back, there's always a chance you can go back?” Smith asked.

'Well, never say never. I just don't see any reason for that. Let me put it this way: I mean, they have so many stories to tell, they don't need Luke anymore,” Hamill responded.

“You know a lot of people would say, 'They always need Luke,'” Smith said, making Hamill laugh.

Smith also asked if he had accepted to forever be associated as Luke Skywalker.

'Yes. Well, I don't care,” Hamill said. “I mean, the truth is, I never expected to be remembered for anything. I just wanted to make a living doing what I enjoyed. And I thought, 'Well, it could be worse. I could be known as the best actor to ever play Adolf Hitler, you know?' 'At least Luke is an admirable guy!'
