Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu film greenlit by Disney with Jon Favreau directing – as beloved Baby Yoda is set to make Big Screen debut

Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu has been greenlit by Disney and Jon Favreau will direct.

The film from the highly popular Disney+ series The Mandalorian is expected to film later this year The Hollywood Reporter.

According to site Mandalorian series creator Favreau, Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy and Lucasfilm chief creative officer Dave Filoni will produce the feature film.

It will be the first Star Wars film to enter production since 2019’s Star Wars: Rise Of The Skywalker.

About the news, Favreau said, “I love telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created.

“The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.”
