Spice Girls Mel B, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton’s leaked conversations leave the band members red-faced as they expose unflattering messages and ‘catty’ remarks about Victoria

Several members of the Spice Girls were left ‘furious’ this week after unflattering details of a conversation emerged in court documents, according to reports.

Mel B, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton are said to be left red-faced after a private conversation between the group was leaked in a defamation case.

According to The sunMel B told her bandmates Geri and Emma that ‘charity doesn’t pay the bills’, during an apparent discussion about reuniting for a gig.

The publication reported that the leaked messages – which came to light on Wednesday as part of a defamation lawsuit in the United States – have infuriated the stars.

The embarrassment is expected to continue over a catty exchange between the three band members over their now close friend Victoria Beckham.

The embarrassment is expected to continue over a catty exchange between the three band members over their now good friend Victoria Beckham.

Although the group now seems to be as thick as thieves again, there is apparently a series of emails gossiping about the way Victoria behaved at the Viva Forever! West End musical premiere on December 11, 2012.

The fashion designer delayed the curtain call of the West End musical, based on the Spice Girls’ biggest hits, by 15 minutes after being stuck in traffic.

Once she arrived, she decided to sit apart from the rest of the group and sit two rows behind the other women, along with her husband David and their children.

According to the publication’s insider, Victoria’s disdain didn’t go over well with Mel B in particular.

The move came just months after the group touted “girl power” and reunited as a five-piece at the closing ceremony of the London Olympics.

It has also been reported that they have sought legal help in case Victoria tries to stop them from going ahead with a potential tour.

Years later, Mel B, Geri and Emma were said to have planned a comeback – which never happened – without Victoria and Mel C.

It’s awkward timing for the group, who are now apparently on good terms after recently celebrating Victoria’s 50th birthday together at her party in London.

Hopefully the emergence of a group chat between Geri, Emma and Mel B won’t cause tension between the friends.

The report claims that after Mel commented that ‘charity doesn’t pay’, Geri told her she ‘hopes no one ever hacks your texts’.

Mel is said to have replied: ‘Why? My texts are fine,” before adding, “Like I said, charity doesn’t pay the bills, everyone knows that.”

The source said: ‘This is very embarrassing for the girls as it doesn’t exactly reflect their core messages. But it’s clearly been a few years and they’ve all kissed and made up since then.

‘Look how happy they were together celebrating Victoria’s 50th birthday in April, belting out their biggest hits together after a few drinks. The hatchet is well and truly buried.’

MailOnline contacted a representative of the Spice Girls for comment.

The leak will be unwelcome news for Geri, who was already embroiled in a leaked messaging scandal with her husband Christian Horner earlier this year.

On Wednesday, Geri made her first public appearance alone at the Hay Festival, promoting her latest book, Rosie Frost and the Falcon Queen.

Geri beamed as she held a book signing for her new novel centered on protagonist Rosie, describing the star as “a new kind of hero for today’s young readers.”

An onlooker said: ‘Geri looked really smiling and happy. She had her picture taken with lots of children and even two female police officers who had taken their lunch break to meet her.

“There were a lot of people queuing to see their favorite Spice Girl.”

Ahead of her talk, the former Spice Girl hung out in the festival’s author tent, next to BBC football expert Gary Lineker.

According to an insider, Geri cheerfully asked “thousands” of questions to staff, showed interest in fellow speakers and asked for copies of books – in particular one on the importance of mushrooms.

However, she refused to comment on her fears over leaked flirty messages that her husband of nine years, Red Bull boss Christian, allegedly sent to a female colleague when asked by email.

He was investigated in February following an allegation of ‘improper conduct’, for which he was later acquitted.

The woman, in her forties, went to HR at the Formula 1 team after receiving messages from Horner, often late at night.

She accused him of ‘coercive behavior’, but an internal investigation led by an unknown QC, appointed by Red Bull, acquitted him. Horner has strongly denied all allegations.
